Product Description
Schwann Cell Growth Supplement (SCGS) is a medium supplement designed for the optimal growth of normal human Schwann cells in vitro. It is a sterile, concentrated (100X) solution which contains growth factors, hormones, and proteins necessary for the culture of normal human Schwann cells. The supplement is formulated (quantitatively and qualitatively) to provide a defined and optimally balanced growth environment that maximally promotes the growth of normal human Schwann cells in vitro. The supplement is designed as an additive for Schwann cell medium (SCM, Cat. No. 1701) and should be used in conjunction with that medium.

Components
SCGS is packaged in the quantity of supplement suited for a 500 ml bottle of Schwann cell medium. When a 500 ml bottle of Schwann cell medium is supplemented with SCGS, the final concentrations of the supplement components per milliliter will be BSA 10 μg, apo-transferrin 10 μg, insulin 5 μg, PDGF 5 ng, FGF-2 5 ng, progesterone 20 nM, forskolin 200 nM, T3 60 nM, PMA 20 nM, selenium 30 nM, putrescine 100 nM and hydrocortisone 0.5 μg.

Storage
Store the SCGS at -20oC before adding to Schwann cell medium.
