Description
Fibronectin is a multi-domain glycoprotein composed of an array ofmultiple repeated modular structures. Cellular fibronectin, an adhesionglycoprotein of the extracellular matrix, exists as a dimer with amolecular mass of ~ 550 kDa. This structure is composed of twoheterodimers, the A chain and the B chain containing the type IIIconnecting segment region. Cellular fibronectin differs from plasmafibronectin by the presence of additional polypeptide segments and itscapacity to specifically regulate morphology and growth of attachedcells including stem cells. Multiple domains of fibronectin show bindingaffinities for collagen, fibrin, heparin, and specific cell membranereceptors including integrins, as well as modulate cell adhesion.Fibronectin matrix assembly is essential for normal development andcontributes to the generation of tumor metastases.
ScienCell Human Cellular Fibronectin is produced from human fibroblastsmaintained in serum-free media and then purified biochemically. This issupplied sterile in CAPS saline buffer.
Storage
It is recommended to store the product as single use aliquots at -80°C.Thawing should be done slowly at 2-8°C with no agitation. Material thatfails to dissolve can be removed by centrifugation. Avoid repeatingfreeze/thaw cycles.
